Switching gears

I’ve decided to set aside Maiden for the next 30 days (or less) and write my RotD2 story. I’m at a good stopping point: halfway done with the book and about to start Chapter 7.

I wrote the first 250 words of the short story Monday night before going to bed. More importantly, I’ve nailed down the major plot points. The story will be set in the past, as opposed to progressing the FR timeline. I already approved this option with Phil Athans. According to him, there is a lot more freedom with short stories as far as their timeframe.

That does mean I’ll likely need to locate some Second Edition source material on the antagonist I’ve chosen. I bought the 2E FR campaign setting box back in the day, but I’ll shoot off an email to Eric Boyd and Ed Greenwood just to cover my bases.

How cool is it that I just said I’m going to email Ed Greenwood? I’m such a fanboy.

Site Update
I’ve reorganized the links menu a little. If you have a blog or website that you would like to have listed under the “Friends” section, send me an email with the link. I’ll check it out and let you know if or when it’s added.
