I apologize for the lateness of today’s post. I’ve been participating in a pretty vigorous discussion on religion over at a friend’s private ezboard, and between that and work, today went by rather quickly.
I’ve made a point of not posting about religion here at Pens & Swords, mainly because I wanted the site to focus on my writing. Some of you know my beliefs, and I am open to sharing them with anybody who asks, but I wasn’t going to make this a platform for preaching.
Even so, my faith is an integral part of who I am and affects all aspects of my life. The links I provide on this site are to webpages that I would not be ashamed to be associated with (I’m hoping erotica won’t be a regular feature of your blog, Alrunic
. The stories I write will reflect the values I hold.
It is interesting that my first book is one with a focus on religion. It was a challenge considering the particular goddess I was given to write about. There are definite themes in this book that struck home with me, however. I think anyone who has strong spiritual convictions will be able to identify with Ythnel, the protagonist in Maiden, as she seeks to both defend and reconcile her faith with others who have a different point of view.
