Site design progress

Work on the new design for the website is coming along. Rounded corners are the biggest rage now, and I was struggling with the logistics of making and placing them. Got over that hurdle last night and have the homepage template over 50% complete.
I’m using CSS pretty heavily with this design. It’s nice to be able to go to one document and make changes that affect large portions of the site, rather than tweaking the code on several pages to make things look the same.
The hardest part will probably be the stuff I want to do with PHP. I’ve never used it before, other than just importing a pre-packaged module (the forums). I have a book, and have been told it’s pretty quick to pick up, but I’ll still likely call in some help.
Some of the new features will be a Library page that lists all my work with cover art and links to buy, a separate Links page listing friends’ and resource websites, and some new forums. I’m going to turn on the comments feature for the blog so people can respond directly. The forums will be used for discussion of my books. Finally, I’ll add some more graphics, mostly from cover art, but also some icons to the menu links and elsewhere for accents.
