Proposals and press releases

I finished up my book proposal last night. Gonna let it sit for a couple days before sending it off.

Marketing for Maiden has been on my mind a lot recently. I’m not sure to what extent WotC publicizes book releases, and I’ve had some ideas swirling around in my head. I’ll run everything by Phil first, of course, but I’d like to send out press releases to some of the local papers and other news outlets, pushing the whole “international open call winner” angle.

I’m also planning a book signing in June. There’s a Borders not five minutes from my house. I thought I’d stop by in May to propose the idea.

Then there’s GenCon. I’ve never been and would be very excited about the opportunity to go. Phil said they are just starting to discuss their plans for the convention. If left to my own devices, I’d probably see about attending L.A., as it would only be a 16 hour drive. I’m pretty sure plane tickets to Wisconsin aren’t in the family budget.

It’s no longer in Wisconsin, actually.

It’s been in Indianapolis (my turf) for a short while now and they have plans for it to be there in the future.

Doh, that’s right. Bigger hub, but still a long trip. ;)

Not that you’re going on a book tour or anything, but if you’re going to drive anywhere (to LA or Indianapolis), you should make some stops along the way for book signings and such.

Let me know if you do something like this and stop in Denver. I could help you set up stuff here and give you a place to crash.

Anything for the king MoPer. :)

Correction: You’re not a MoPer (Maiden of Pain Elite Rejects), ’cause you won. ;) Unless in your case it means “Maiden of Pain Elected Representative.” lol
