Maiden’s rank

I need to give a big shout out to all my readers.
When I first learned that the cover for Maiden of Pain was posted on Amazon, I raced over there to see it. After “ooohing” and “aaahing”, I scrolled down to see what text was being used to promote the book. I also noticed a line that tracks the book’s sales ranking on Amazon. At that time, Maiden was in the mid-500,000′s.
I’ve been checking the rank about once a week or so. Last week, the book moved up to somewhere in the 300,000′s. I checked on Monday and it was steadily climbing–up to 238,000. On a whim, I checked again yesterday.
Maiden of Pain was ranked 49,000th!
In two days, I had jumped over 150,000 spots. I am so excited!. While it is a long way from the top 100, let me give you some perspective. Mistress of the Night, the second book in the series, is currently ranked at 31,000th. And Lady of Poison, the first book, is ranked in the mid-60,000′s. It’s been out for at least six months.
So, again, my thanks to everyone who has preordered Maiden of Pain. You’ve already made my first novel a success in my eyes.

Hiya. Been lurking a while and was one of your fellow Maiden competitors. I will order, but I tend not to do pre-orders.

Yeah, I usually don’t preorder things, myself.
