CSFF Blog Tour

Well, it appears I read through the entire October 2006 issue of Dragons, Knights & Angels last night without realizing it. I guess that’s what I get for trying to post before midnight. Of course, I think that also points out the fact that DKA’s “cover” is a bit confusing and could benefit from some clearer demarcation between current and past issue content.

The purpose of blog tours is to promote the tour subject, so I felt somewhat concerned that my reviews would reflect badly on the e-zine. The truth of the matter is, though, that with any collection of stories, the quality is going to vary. Throw in the lack of professional rates, and it becomes even more difficult to attract consistently good, solid writing. Ultimately, it is the editor (or editors) that chooses what stories to include, and while they may have a good idea of their audience, no story appeals to everyone similarly. I consider myself lucky if I discover one or two stories I enjoy and connect with.

I think DKA is successful in promoting and fostering CSFF. I also commend them for accepting student submissions, and hope they continue to succeed in their mission.

This month’s CSFF tour ends today. Be sure to check in with the other participants in the tour:
