I'm not sure Janner is undone, but his love for this woman certainly colors his judgment. There is a strong love-story element woven into this adventure story; I find myself walking a tightrope during the first half. The second half shifts focus to unrepentant sword-and-sorcery action.

good call; i think you're right in not wanting it to be a major plot point: but don't knock the pull of a well-told love story intertwined w/ the rest of your adventure. and don't forget how many well-intentioned men w/ principles have been undone by the love of or for a woman. just saying. :)
